Living in Mississippi started as a YouTube channel answering one question: what's it actually like to live here? It's grown into a free resource for anyone buying, selling or moving to the Jackson metro, with videos, area guides and two local agents you can call.

What this site is
This site and the YouTube channel are here to help you figure out Mississippi before you make a big decision. You'll find guides to the cities and counties around Jackson, videos of neighborhoods and homes, and plain-English guides to buying and selling.
It's free to use. If you want help with a move or a sale, we're licensed Mississippi real estate agents and we'd be glad to talk. If you just want to learn, that's fine too.
Jared Laster
Jared is a licensed Mississippi real estate agent with Real Broker, LLC and the guy behind the camera (and usually in front of it) on the Living in Mississippi YouTube channel. He lives in the Brandon area, and he's spent years driving the back roads, touring new subdivisions and walking through homes so people moving here can see what a place is really like before they ever set foot in it.
Most of the people Jared works with found him through a video. By the time they call, they've usually watched a few tours and narrowed things down, so his job is filling in the rest: which areas fit their budget and commute, what the schools and taxes look like, and what's worth seeing in person. He also co-hosts Big & Bright, a YouTube channel that tours luxury homes in Texas.
Charles Lacey
Charles is a licensed Mississippi real estate agent with Real Broker, LLC. If Jared is the one showing you the area on camera, Charles is usually the one walking you through the house in person. He handles a lot of the hands-on side of buying and selling: showings, pricing, offers, negotiations and keeping everything on track until closing.
Charles works with buyers and sellers across Madison, Rankin and Hinds counties, from first homes and new construction to luxury homes on the Reservoir. He's also Jared's partner on Big & Bright.
